Torino exploited the same weapon as AS Roma: an impressive pressing game and, then, a good defense with all the players behind the ball. Curiously, the player who hit back at Kevin Strootman goal was Alessio Cerci, a forward who grew up in the AS Roma youth academy. He debuted in Serie A at his 16: Fabio Capello sent him on the pitch on 16 May 2004 but he had no time for showing his talents in the Capital.
Napoli won over Catania thanks to two beautiful goals by José Maria Callejón and Marek Hamšík. The Azzurri never started a season (the first 11 matches at least) in such a good way: despite some disapprovals by the Italian press, the turn-over adopted by Rafa Benitez is bearing fruits. Now Napoli can prepare for the Champions League match against Marseille but it will impossibile not to think about next sunday night: Juventus await for the Partenopei in a match that could give Serie A the first opponent of Roma.
The 11th matchday confirmed the crisis of Milan and Lazio. Fiorentina rubbed salt on Milan's wounds with an easy win at San Siro: we talked about the rossoneri's bad moment last saturday. Vincenzo Montella's lads continue displaying a nice football and currently are six points distant from the Champions zone of the table. Lazio is simply unrecognisable compared to the 2012-2013 season team; after the humiliating home deafeat against Genoa, coach Vladimir Petkovic is hanging in the balance.
Hellas Verona and Inter continue to walk hand in hand in the table: both won last sunday and both sit in the fourth place with 22 points. Nerazzurri, which enjoy the magic moment of the Argentinian Rodrigo Palacio, are a reliable rival for Roma, Napoli and Juventus at least in the battle for the third place.
The most pyrotechnical match was Sampdoria-Sassuolo 3-4. The blucerchiati lost a very important game for the relegation zone and now have been reached by the Emilians, who play in Serie A for the first time in their history. Livorno obtained a precious win that allows them to surpass Cagliari in the table. Tuscans thank Paulinho Betanin: the Brazilian striker is on fire and is currently solving the drought of Innocent Emeghara.
Tonight Bologna and Chievo Verona will play another important match in the relegation zone. By winning, the Scaligeri could leave the last place, but they will have to face a Bologna side that lives a moment of good form.
