The most recent incident Arturo Vidal has been a part of was his involvement in a bar fight the Thursday before arguably one of Juventus’ biggest domestic matches of the season against AS Roma. For this incident, it is reported that Vidal was fined 100,000 euros and was dropped to the bench for non-tactical reasons in the match the following Sunday. However Vidal has since came out and claimed he was not fined by tweeting "My relationship with Juventus is very good. The coaching staff and my team-mates have confidence in me and I have confidence in them". "The club has never fined me. The reports about this are wrong and, in some cases, ill-intentioned."
The two main potential suitors for Vidal are currently Manchester United and Real Madrid. Juventus are reportedly more inclined to do business with Real Madrid due to the influences of Carlo Ancelotti in the Serie A. Real Madrid have also recently done business with Juventus with Alvaro Morata moving to Juventus in the summer so this may also tip the balance in Madrid’s favour.
If Real are to strike a deal with the Italians a player exchange of World cup winner Sami Khedira could be involved. The powerful German is out of contract at the end of the season so to prevent him from leaving for nothing in the summer; he may be offered up to Juventus to sweeten the deal. This transfer seemingly will benefit both teams as Juventus get rid of their hot-headed midfielder in exchange for another fantastic box to box midfielder whilst Real add another Galactico to their ranks.
Manchester United have had a long term interest in the Chile international and reportedly came very close to signing Vidal in the summer transfer window. The Big spending premier league giants have been seeking an adequate replacement for Paul Scholes ever since the Englishman retired from the game. Home grown players such as Tom Cleverley have not lived up to the expectation and now the Red Devils are going to spend big to fix their midfield. Juan Mata is also rumoured to be on his way out of United due to a shaky start to his season with Juventus targeting the Spanish international. This could also lead to a swap deal including Mata for Vidal.
The deal could be risky for both teams due to the amount of money that will be involved and with Vidal sure to ask for a top wage on a long term deal, it may prove to be a bad move for either team. This could be due to his off the field acts which may escalate even further or the fact that Vidal has had a number of injuries to his knee in the past few seasons which may or may not continue. However if either team successfully sign Vidal and he fulfils his potential they will have a fantastic player on their hands.
