Best World Cup performance.   In the 1982 Spanish World Cup: they drew with Spain 1-1 and again with Northern Ireland, only to lose 1-0 to Yugoslavia.

Most memorable World Cup moment. Considering the size of the country, both participations to the most important football event in 1982 and 2010 can be considered as outstanding feats.

Most forgettable World Cup moment.   The Fourth place in group H in South Africa: Honduras lost their opening game against Chile 1-0, then they lost against Spain and finally drew with Switzerland.

In Group E with  Switzerland , Ecuador and France.

Tactics and playing style.   Los Carachos are likely to use a classic 4-4-2 as they did against England in their last friendly game. The main strategy is to depend on counter-attack mainly using the wings and counting on their left back Emilio Izaguirre.

Strenghts.  Counter-Attack.

Weaknesses.  Defense

Key player.   Left-back Emilio Izaguirre was named Scottish Premier League Player of the Year in the 2010/11 season for Celtic. Wilson Palacios, one of the most recognizable faces of Honduran football playing for Stoke City, is also an important player.

Players to watch.   The abovementioned Emilio Izaguirre and Wilson Palacios, along with several other players like Rony Martinez that plays for Real Sociedad .

Main objective.  Reaching the Round of 16 would be considered a huge success looking at the former participations to the World Cup.

Prediction.  As much as I hate to type that way, Honduras doesn't stand a chance in this Group, as every other team will have the aim to score as much as they can against them to get to the 2nd round.
