The third club in the Italian top league not presenting any sponsor on its shirts is the newly promoted Palermo. Last season the Sicilian club reached an agreement with the supermarket chain Sigma, whose logo was placed just below the sponsorship of the club’s official website. The deal ended last February, leaving the shirt with the lone Palermocalcio.it written on it. This year, whilst waiting for a suitable offer, Zamparini’s club chose to fill the empty space to self-promote the season tickets campaign.
As mentioned, no longer than a week ago we could have found Sampdoria in this short list, but the Genova based club will now promote the movie Sin City 3D starting from their second match in Campionato. The “temporary sponsorship” will be lasting three games and will produce an estimated revenue of 50 thousand euros for Ferrero’s club, who as also revealed that other film titles will be following Sin City’s footsteps in the following months.
The situation is no better in Serie B, where there currently are four clubs without a sponsor on their shirts. Livorno, as mentioned by its owner Spinelli, is still far from finding a deal with a new brand after their relations with Banca Carige came to an end. Another bank, Carispezia, concluded its relations with Spezia Calcio after backing the club for six years. The two parties worked to find a new deal on annual basis but the shirt is currently still empty. No sponsor also for Pescara, who last year had a deal with Acqua&Sapone, and for Ternana who played the 2013/2014 season backed by Banca Mediolanum and advertising the local project “Insieme Protagonisti”.
