Okyere was crowned the Female Player of the Year after skippering her team to win a historic bronze at the 2012 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
Asamoah has been rewarded for his sterling displays for Udinese before signing for Juventus last summer and excelled as one of Africa’s biggest footballers in Europe.
He was also key for Ghana at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations where the Black Stars finished fourth. The Juventus star saw off completition from International teammates Andre Ayew and Emmanuel Clottey to win the Footballer of the year. The ceremony to honour sportsmen and women who distinguished themselves in their respective disciplines in the year 2012 was attended by all that matter in Ghana sports. It was the second time in three years that a footballer was being named the sports personality of the year. Paralympian, Ajara Mohammed won it last year and Black Stars captian Asamoah Gyan won it the year before.
